Diagnostic Test
NT-proBNP
The NT-proBNP test measures the level of N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic peptide in the blood. This marker is produced by the heart and may increase when the heart is under strain. The test is commonly used in the assessment of heart failure and other cardiac conditions, and can support further clinical evaluation.
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
