Cholesterol High Density Lipoprotein
Cholesterol High Density Lipoprotein (Cholesterol HDL) is a blood test that measures the level of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (“good cholesterol”) in the blood. Cholesterol HDL helps remove excess cholesterol from the bloodstream and transport it to the liver for processing. Higher HDL levels are generally associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. This test is commonly used as part of a lipid profile to assess heart health.
