Renal Function
Urea
Urea is a waste product formed in the liver from protein metabolism and is excreted by the kidneys. It is commonly measured alongside creatinine to assess renal function and fluid balance. Urea levels can help in the evaluation of kidney function and may assist in distinguishing prerenal, renal, and postrenal causes of kidney impairment.
