Anti Thyroglobulin Antibodies
Thyroglobulin antibodies (TG Ab) are antibodies directed against thyroglobulin, a protein produced by the thyroid gland. Testing is used to support the diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid conditions and to help interpret thyroid function and surveillance results.
TG Ab can interfere with thyroglobulin measurement, which is particularly important in the follow-up of patients being monitored for thyroid cancer.
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
