Anti Thyroid Peroxidase

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPO Ab) are autoantibodies directed against thyroid peroxidase, an enzyme involved in thyroid hormone production. Testing is used to support the diagnosis of autoimmune thyroid disease, such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and to assess the risk of developing thyroid dysfunction.
