Trichomonas vaginalis
The Trichomonas vaginalis PCR test detects the genetic material (DNA) of Trichomonas vaginalis in samples collected from vaginal, urethral, or other relevant genital sites. This parasite is commonly associated with trichomoniasis, a sexually transmitted infection that can affect the urogenital tract.
The test is used to support the diagnosis of genital infections and to assist in the investigation of vaginal discharge, irritation, or other related symptoms.
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
Genetic test processing fee: £26 (including phlebotomy).
