Cancer Markers
CA 15-3
The CA 15-3 test measures the level of cancer antigen 15.3, a substance that may be found in the blood. It is most commonly associated with breast-related conditions and is used mainly in disease monitoring.
Clinical indications
* Monitoring patients with breast cancer
* Evaluating response to ongoing treatment
* Identifying possible recurrence during follow-up care
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
