Calcium
Serum calcium is an important mineral test used to assess bone metabolism, kidney function, and parathyroid gland activity. It plays a key role in bone strength, muscle contraction, and nerve function. Depending on clinical context, adjusted calcium or ionized calcium may be measured to provide a more accurate assessment in relation to albumin levels.
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
