Cardiac Markers
CK-MB
The CK-MB test measures the level of creatine kinase MB (CK-MB) in the blood. CK-MB is an enzyme mainly found in heart muscle and is released when there is damage to cardiac tissue. This test is commonly used in the assessment of suspected heart muscle injury and may support further clinical evaluation of cardiac conditions.
The findings related to these particular clinical tests are a general guide and do not cover every possible scenario, this is because every patient is unique and these results only have true clinical significance when combined with the patient’s full medical history, a physical exam, and other diagnostic findings.
